5/10 … and holy fuck did we need the #metoo movement in 1991, but we had to wait another 27 years for that to happen. Seriously what’s wrong with these men? The store clerk grabbing a womens ass, a psychoterapists who can’t open his mouth without spewing out some extreme sexual innuendos, a neighbour making sexual advances and blocking her way when she tries to leave. Cavemen, much?
9/10 … Legend has it that the majority of the Hultsfred Festival’s 21,000 paying visitors directly or indirectly had sex with a Wu-Tang Clan member in 1997. Slightly exaggerated, probably. But the Wu-Tang Clan had demanded 450 condoms from the organizers before their gig at the Festival …
9/10 … Awesome Tiny Desk concert from December the 5th, 2018. I got goosebumps more or less during the whole 21 minutes. The legends deliver, even though my two favourite members Method Man and Ghostface isn’t present here. Sit back and enjoy …
Sunday, February the 4th, 1996, about one month before the release of their now classic “Second Toughest In The Infants” album, Underworld played a now legendary two hour set on BBC Radio 1 show “Essential Mix”, hosted by Peter Tong. ..
7/10 … Finally a sex comedy from the female perspective instead of the same old horny teen dudes trying to score. Really refreshing! For some reason there’s still this f**ked up mentality that girls are either the virgin or the whore. Hopefully more movies like this, the decline of religious influence in society and education can change that. This one is a no holds barred, it doesn’t shy away from anything. So apart from showing nudity there’s nothing missing. Several funny moments, but I was hoping for even more…
Drum & Bass: The Movement explores how a unique UK club culture rose from the underground to become a global phenomenon infiltrating and influencing disciplines from mainstream pop music to video games. From dubplates to mainstream crossovers, to some of the labels, tracks and clubs that helped shape the scene, Drum & Bass: The Movement […]
10/10 … I think this is probably the ultimate drama/comedy for me, and I have seen it about a million time (I don’t know what that says about me). It’s both funny, uncomfortable and sad. At its core I would say the movie is about loneliness, and how we all are alone even when we are in a relationship.
One early morning in mid-May 1998, police were called to a hotel in Malmö. Several guests have complained about a loud party that never seems to want to put an end to the after-party.
When the patrol opens the door, they are met by total chaos. A large hole has been drilled in the ceiling, someone has sprayed glue over the carpet and the toilet is full of debris. The floor in the corridor is covered with pills and sequins. In the middle of the mess are five disillusioned musicians in their 20s. Some of them are drawn with lines on the face. It is reminiscent of war paintings.
For me a new discovery, a duo consisting of Seven Shawn (Cousin of K-Def) and John Doe (Cousin of Marley Marl). They had a short career during the mid 1990’s where they released three 12” and also recorded one album that never got released. They came to my attention when I heard the brilliant title track from the groups […]
7/10 … but despite all that I really enjoy this one, more or less non-stop action, and goofy things like instead of a parachute when dropping out of an airplane they use some kind of ball. Cutting with laser under water (which is impossible). Knife between an assailant’s toe switch foot between shots… I can go on forever 😂. It also seems like they rented an expensive tiger, so they put him in scenes as often as possible 😂.
7/10 … An experimental drug that is supposed to reduce aggression has the opposite effect on a baboon that is being experimented on by a group of medical students and their professor. While they are playing a fantasy role-playing game in their research facility, the baboon escapes and begins hunting them down.
”Cold War” an amazing track, pure and raw project poetry with a haunting sample underneath. Just read the lyrics: ”Babies cryin’ brothers dyin’ and brothers getting knocked
Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down
In this cold, cold worldIt was the night before New Year’s, and all through the fuckin’ projects
Not a handgun was silent, not even a Tec
Outside as I’m stuck, by enemies who put fear
And blasted on the spot before the pigs were dere
You know hoods robbers snipers new in sight, fuck blue and white
They escape before them flash the fuckin’ lights
