Vixen was formed in 1981, and changed their name to Hawaii in 1982. Among the members where guitarist Marty Friedman who later became a big name together with Jason Becker in Cacophony and later Megadeth.
Check out the updated 1970/80’s Heavy Metal Playlist with 350+ tracks on Spotify right here! It’s recommended that you listen to it with “shuffle” if you don’t want to listen to the same artist several tracks after each other. “Justice is Lost … Justice is Raped … Justice is Gone”
Metallicas fourth album takes on the oppression of the system. The System that you were told was for your protection. On this track they make the case against the justice system. That it’s not so much about justice for you as it is for those with money and lawyer against lawyer. The lines “Apathy their stepping stone, So unfeeling, Hidden deep animosity, So deceiving” says it all.
9/10 … It’s been a loooooong time since I heard an album that emidettly when it’s over I put it on again and again and again…
7/10 … I have to admit, I’m really not a big Chuck Norris fan. I think his fighting style compared to for example Bruce Lee looks cluncky and also for him being a nutjob christian. With that said, this one I like a lot in all it’s “Cannon Film-ines”…..
8/10 … It all starts with an opening scene with tribal people sacrificing a young western girl, when the military come to her aid (too late). It’s apparent that they were not shot at the same time. The tribal part where it’s night time and when the soldiers sneak around the jungle it’s daytime. This is followed by …
3/10 … So I´m on a 1980’s T&A comedy bender right now, but crap like this is what can take me out of it and go on to the next topic. Extremely bad acting of 99% of the cast, slipping on banana peel comedy, boring as shit main girl and holier-tha-thou Scott (James Daughton), a director who doesn’t know when to end a scene or hide the boom microphone from being visible. Not even the nudity (or lack of) can save this one. Fuck this movie! Avoid!
8/10 … Only in a movie like this you can hear the now classic line from Betsy:
– “Bubba said we did it once but I was passed out so I can’t remember a thing.”
… The 80’s, not a #metoo movement as far as the eye could see.
8/10 … Betsy Russell (later known from all the “Saw” movies) as Tomasina ‘Tomboy’ Boyd is really beautiful, and why she’s called a “Tomboy” must be an 80’s thing. Just because she’s interested in cars, motorcycles, engines and not just dating guys, she’s a tomboy? WTF the 1980’s! 🙂
6/10 … Meep is the host of this podcast, and he is a very nice and warm host with a passion for 1980’s movies. And I really like people who’s not pretentious and can have a teen comedy on top of his best list and don’t feel the need to have something ”Oscars” there. When he’s joined by Jon Donahue it’s where it shines. Funny comments back and forth and both really passioned about movies. With that said, some episodes are unlistenable, like when he has his friend Jeffrey joining him. Try to listen to Episode 53: 1979 Movie Favourites, he has absolutly nothing to say and I couldn’t even finish the episode.
7/10 … Vinegar Syndrome, is one of these labels that should get Nobels Culture Price for how they rescue movies from vanishing into total obscurity. Months of hard work locating reels to put together the best version possible, and you can get a piece of that work for only about $25, incredible.
9/10 … This is my absolute favourite in the whole series. Amazingly ”fun” mix of awesome killing methods, a great location and a great cast. We also get a strong final girl, Chris (Dana Kimmell), the best of the whole franchise. She really fights back. A pretty high kill count with 10 casualties doesn’t make it boring either.
4/10 … Gather around the campfire, and hearthe tale of Madman Marz – an ill-tempered farmer who, one dark night, chopped up his wife and two children into pieces. When the locals learned of his heinous crimes, they exacted revenge – sinking an axe into his head and hanging him from a nearby tree. But the next day, Marz’s body was gone…
8/10 Year: 1988Genre: HorrorSource: Blu-Ray (Scream Factory) Ten teenagers party at an abandoned funeral parlor on Halloween night. When an evil force awakens, demonic spirits keep them from leaving and turn their gathering into a living Hell. A first meeting with the cast, I feel that they are all disgusting people and want them to […]
Years: 1982/1987/1990Genre: Slasher/HorrorSource: Blu-Ray (Scream Factory) Slumber Party Massacre (1982) 7/10 A high school student’s slumber party turns terrifying as an escaped mental patient with a drill decides to crash the evening. It makes me happy just to see the opening scene with a 1980’s Los Angeles and a paperboy doing his route. It was […]
