Mgla (pronounced “mgwah”) means “Fog” in Polish, was formed in the year 2000 in Krakow, Poland. From the start they where a studio project only, but started to tour in 2012. If you look at the bands lyrics, dystopia and nihilism is the theme that runs throughout. That’s usually not something that gets me hooked […]

9/10 … Directed by DA Pennebaker (R.I.P) We get to follow both the band and 10 fans who won a dance contest and get to go by bus throughout the US till they arrive in California. There they have their last concert (101th) on the tour, ”Music for the Masses” on 18 June 1988 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
9/10 … but to me the music in itself and the lyrics reached the top here. The anger over injustices and politicians abusing power theme goes throughout the whole album.
10/10 … lI ove each and every one of these tracks, but if I would have a gun to my head, then I choose the opening tracks beautiful dreamy tones,”Tone burst”. The monotone fuzz of ”Our Trenton blast”, the calm summer day beautiful feel of “Pak yr romantic mind”, the amazing Spacemen 3ish “Golden Ball” and of course the grinding monotone “Jenny Ondioline”. Okay, that makes five tracks, but WTF, I’m only human!
”Cold War” an amazing track, pure and raw project poetry with a haunting sample underneath. Just read the lyrics: ”Babies cryin’ brothers dyin’ and brothers getting knocked
Shit is deep on the block and you got me locked down
In this cold, cold worldIt was the night before New Year’s, and all through the fuckin’ projects
Not a handgun was silent, not even a Tec
Outside as I’m stuck, by enemies who put fear
And blasted on the spot before the pigs were dere
You know hoods robbers snipers new in sight, fuck blue and white
They escape before them flash the fuckin’ lights
10/10 … You can’t underestimate the importants that this 7″ have had on the Hardcore scene. Recorded at Media Art Studio early 1978 and released in february 1979 on the SST Records in a first edition of 2000 copies. it blowed the head of the “hipster punkrockers” that really wasn’t prepared for the fury. It was orgininally recorded under the bandname Panic, and was supposed to be released on Bomp! but during the 18 months between recording and until it was finally release the band changed their name to Black Flag. As I said the first edition was released in 2000 copies and to this day it have been released in 17 different versions on 7″ and 3 different versions on 10″.

One of the early now cult fanzines for thrash/speed metal. Editors Vadim Rubin and Ron Nieto created this one out of their homes in Long Beach, California, US. This is the first number from 1984, and contains Slayer, Mercyful Fate, Overkill, Omen, Destruction, Hirax , Death Angel, Celtic Frost, etc. Unfortunatly I don’t know much […]
8/10 … Personally I’m mainly interested in the creation and recording of the different Sonic Youth albums and if you are the same you will get a bit disapointed.
