Created by Bill Dubuque , this drama series stars Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, a financial planner who relocates his family from Chicago to a summer resort community in the Ozarks. With wife Wendy and their two kids in tow, Marty is on the move after a money-laundering scheme goes wrong, forcing him to pay off a substantial debt to a Mexican drug lord in order to keep his family safe. While the Byrdes’ fate hangs in the balance, the dire circumstances force the fractured family to reconnect.
Awesome drama/thriller show with two of my favourite actors, Jason Bateman and. It’s thrilling and tense and I put my self in their situation. I usually binge watch the whole seasons when they’re released. I will surely pick up the blu-ray box if they released it after the show is done/cancelled.
Season 3 was just released and I couldn’t wait to watch it as soon as possible. I went out and bought some steakes and beers to be fully prepared. And it didn’t disappoint. Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, the money laundryguy for the Mexican cartell and his wife Wendy played by Laura Linney are still just a pleasure to see everytime they’re on screen. Jason Bateman plays his character really calm and relaxed. Nothing ever seems to make him get or act emotional, Almost like he has some kind of l-etter diagnosed like ADD or something. Laura Linney is fantastic in handling decisions and making the plot move forward. She takes uncomfortable decisions all the time, doing what has to be done according to her.
In season 3 we also get introduced to Ben Davis (Played by Tom Pelphrey), and holy shit does he make a great job as the impulsive and mentally ill brother of Wendy Byrde. Hard to say much more to avoid spoilers. Just enjoy!
Helene Pierce (played by Janet Mcteer) and Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) both plays really strong and though characters that are both a delight to see.
I haven’t loved a TV show this much since Breaking Bad and The Wire. I can’t wait for season 4 … especially after how this one ended.
The Ozarks, also referred to as the Ozark Mountains, is a physiographic and geologic highland region of the central United States, primarily in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Lake of the Ozarks, a man-made lake, is often referred to as the “Redneck Riviera” and attracts an estimated 5 million holidaymakers annually. It is also nicknamed “The Magic Dragon” because of its serpentine configuration that stretches 92 miles from end to end with a shoreline greater than that of California.
Filming was completed in multiple locations such as Lake of the Ozarks Missouri and Lake Allatoona in Georgia
I watched this streaming on Netflix, but I hope it will also be released on Blu-Ray.
