Based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name, YOU is a 21st century love story that asks, “What would you do for love?” When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way.
I liked the first season, the love interest Beck (Elizabeth Lail) is very charming and plays the slightly neurotic girlfriend just great. I enjoy the concept of the show but wished it would have been more decadent and Joe (Penn Badgley) even more depraved.
Season two is even better in my opinion, more or less all characters are very likeable and we get more twists and turns. The focus of his attention this time, Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) and her brother Forty Quinn (James Scully) are simply awesome.
According to Imdb a season three is coming in 2021.
The first season was shot in New York and season two in Los Angeles.
The first season aired on Lifetime, the network ordering the second season before the first episode aired in September 2018. With low ratings on the cable network, Lifetime backed out of airing the drama’s second season. Netflix picked the series and began streaming the series in December, 2018.
I watched this streaming on Netflix, but I hope it will also be released on Blu-Ray.
