The Stranger (TV/Thriller/Mystery)[TV/Review]

10/10

Year: 2020
Genre: TV/Thriller/Mystery
Director: Daniel O’Hara & Hannah Quinn
Source: Streaming (Netflix)

PLOT:
A mysterious stranger tells a man a secret that not only ruins his previously perfect life, but puts him on a collision course with a deadly conspiracy. Based on the novel by Harlan Coben.

OPINION:
This felt like it was a miniseries, but according to TV Episode guide it’s a current show. On the other hand wikipedia says it’s a miniseries, so I guess time will tell.

This one was simply amazing, just the kind of show I love. We have a mystery, or should I say several mysteries and until the end it keeps us guessing. I watched the whole thing in two sittings, more or less the entire time on the edge of my seat. Hard to tell you much more than this without revealing to much.

We have a cast of several skilled actors that have been with us for a long time, such as Siobhan Finneran, Stephen Rea and Jennifer Saunders and they all do a great solid job.

LOCATION/BACKGROUND:
The show was shot in the Greater Manchester Area, England, UK.

Based on the thriller titled ‘The Stranger’ by New York crime writer Harlan Coben, published in 2015, he also makes a cameo appearance as a detective at the computer in the 2nd episode.

STREAM:
I watched this streaming on Netflix, but I hope it will also be released on Blu-Ray.
