Here I collect every short review I made on Sci-Fi movies. To see another genre look at the index page. You find it here! I will confess, I’m not a fan of “out in space” sci-fi movies like Star Wars or Star Trek, but I love movies when it’s more down here on our planet like Ex-Machina, Edge of Tomorrow, District 9, Attack the Block and so on.
I’m the type of persons who hates spoilers, I more or less never watch trailers and don’t want to know anything about the movie more than the basic plot. So in that vein is also my reviews. They are more of short things that maybe can wake someones interest and make them discover the movie themselves.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Alita is a creation from an age of despair. Found by the mysterious Dr. Ido while trolling for cyborg parts, Alita becomes a lethal, dangerous being. She cannot remember who she is, or where she came from. But to Dr. Ido, the truth is all too clear. She is the one being who can break the cycle of death and destruction left behind from Tiphares. But to accomplish her true purpose, she must fight and kill. And that is where Alita’s true significance comes to bear. She is an angel from heaven. She is an angel of death.
Great adventures Sci-Fi with fantastic animations. Not really that much more to add.
Attack the Block (2011)
You could put this movie in the Sci-Fi, Comedy, Coming-of-Age or the Horror category, but to me this is just a perfect movie, it’s fun, it has some scares, it’s fast paced and even do the kids that the movie is about, are obnoxious little shits, you get to like them. A really original script and it seems strange to me that it took the director, Joe Cornish 8 years before he made another movie. The lovely Jodie Whittaker (as Sam) is just amazing and the always funny Nick Frost kills it. Read full review here!
